Well hello happy campers!
I hope that you're all well where ever you are today and I hope that you're able to get out into the great outdoors and do what I can't do at the moment- which is EVERYTHING..🙄.. (except go outside exercise for an hour a day, go to the supermarket/chemist....and that's about it and be at home by the 9pm curfew...)
Anyway, here's the second half of that completely accidental, fun and exciting camping/hiking/trekking tale as we crossed over the peak of Hagerman's Pass and landed down on the other side in the Silver Dollar Saloon in Leadville about 10 days later.
Driving along the top of Hagerman's Pass, you can't see them in this photo and not having seen humans for days- cause we were out in the middle of nowhere, until we crested the ridge and suddenly there in front of us, were literally hundreds of humans riding their pushbikes up there!
It was some sort of annual mountain biking contest or triathalon, but I can't remember which one...Anyway, needless to say, once again, seeing that many people dressed in Lycra riding pushbikes descend upon us out in the middle of nowhere was quite a suprise to say the least...it was very surreal...
And I'm sure that I've got photos of the 'suprise' humans up there but I'm pretty sure there on the negatives and my scanner has died....:-( I think I pushed that button one too many times and wore it out...
According to Google maps, this is now called Skinner's Hut...And maybe it was back then too...and it looks like I've labelled it the 11th instead of 10th, or the 11th doesn't exist anymore....not sure, so if anyone knows, I'd love to hear back.......https://pmags.com/ski-to-the-divide-skinner-hut

We didn't really know what this was and whether we could go in there- though we did really, REALLY want to...So thought that we better not - oh the REGRETS!!!
