A Saturday a couple of weeks ago I was in town with a friend to see an art exhibition at the library. We not only got the art exhibition inside, but also an outdoor exhibition with old cars. We saw that it was the Veteran Car Club in Kristiansand that was responsible for the event. We did not show about the exhibition. It was only because the art exhibition was on the second floor and that from here we looked out over the square and spotted the cars. Even none of us have a special interest in cars, it was fun to walk around these old cars.
They have different ages. Some were from the 1960s/70s. We both remembered the cars from our childhood. However, several were quite old. An old fort was one of the car brands we recognised. The square was filled by cars in all shapes, sizes and colours. What I found most fascinating was looking into those who were open. That is, where the canopy was down. Notice the leather gloves hanging on the steering wheel. A nice little detail. I noticed that the cars were very simple. There are no advanced buttons inside. We almost wondered a little how people managed to drive them. But it must have been easier than in today's modern cars.
The Veteran club was present on the sqaure. Advertising for its association and those who were particularly interested then had the opportunity to talk to and ask questions about the cars and the club. I know that the club rents out several vintage cars too. Mostly for weddings or other events. It's quite popular for a bridal couple to arrive in a vintage car. A saturday with a top modern art exhibition of contemporary art was a contrast to these old vintage cars.
