how are you guys today, hope you are all well, on this occasion I will share a little with you about my story and my experience drinking kupi khop typical of west Aceh.
Drinking coffee served in a glass is a common thing, but what if the coffee is served upside down on a plate. That's just an unusual thing.
Yes, this is coffee served upside down on a plate. Coffee served like this is called "kupi khop" or in Indonesian it is face down coffee.
Kopi khop is a typical Acehnese coffee drink originating from Meulaboh, Aceh Barat. The coffee is served in a glass that is placed upside down on a small plate and drunk by slurping or sucking the coffee liquid in the upside down glass.
However, this way of drinking kupi khop has its own uniqueness from the way most people in Aceh drink coffee. And there are also many tourists who visit Aceh just to feel the pleasure and unique sensation of drinking this coffee.
