They say trees are natural air conditioners. A single tree was even equated to 5 air conditioners, which I agree with. I remember when we were walking for an hour under the sun with the aid of an umbrella as our sole protection. We hoped to find a real shelter from the heat.
When we saw a huge acacia tree, there was great excitement. We reached the tree and we felt refreshed. It is a relief from the scorching heat of the sun, and the cool shadows and oxygen the tree gave is satisfying. Despite, we, using an umbrella as protection, it didn't equate to what the tree can give. Even the shadow of a building can't give a cool feeling like how tree does.
That's why I'm happy the trees are being protected in the park close to where we live. They serves as protection and for oxygen production. Some of them are uprooted during the strong typhoons, but I hope new trees will be planted.
