Good evening from Bangladesh
How are you all?
I'm fine Alhamdulillah.
A few days ago I came back from a place near my home district.
It is a large pond located in Amarkhana Union under Panchagarh Sadar Upazila, about 15 km north of Panchagarh town in the northernmost district of Bangladesh, now known as "Maharaja Dighi". Maharaja Dighi is one of the places of interest in Panchagarh.
‘Maharaja Dighi’ is a huge reservoir. Its area including the shore is about 600 × 400 yards. The locals believe that the water depth is about 400 feet. The age of the lake is about one and a half thousand years.
The water in this tank is very clear. There are a total of 10 ghats in Dighi.
According to the locals, Prithu Raja dug this tank.
Every year on the occasion of Bengali New Year, a fair is held on the bank of this Maharaja's Dighi.
Surrounding this huge lake are many beautiful greenery of trees, soft and serene atmosphere, secluded environment which still seems to be captivating and rare to everyone. In a word, there is no lack of beauty in this Maharaja's lake.
I went for a walk with my family to spend some time in contact with nature. My daughter was happily engrossed in the water of the tank. She did not want to get out of the water at all.
Anyway, all in all I enjoyed a wonderful day visiting Maharaja Dighi.
