Bodega bay is 3 hours away to the bay from our area of Sacramento. We often drive there just to cool off from the summer heat and to get away from the bad air quality since wildfire is happening from south and north.
The weather is around 62°F to 63°F from July to August in Bodega bay, the water temperature is a little bit cold but swimmable.
Campground or hotel are your choice to enjoy the rural and quiet nature. Bodega beach is in Sonoma county, the larges wine produce in California.

Clam field at Bodega Beach, no one even want it. Clams were just laying there miles and miles. My husband caught some crabs the other day. I saw a lot of folks brought big buckets to collect some crabs.
My son caught a fish, his feelings of saving the planet is higher so he threw back the fish into the water. Good job big boy.
