Perservar nuestras playas es fundamental para el medio ambiente, tener un espacio pulcro y limpio para poder disfrutarlas con respeto y devoción. Por eso, hoy 17 de Septiembre por ser el Día Mundial de las Playas realizamos una recolección de desechos sólidos en nuestra querida playa San Luis, con el objetivo de recuperar y cuidar esos espacios del Estado Sucre.

No lo sabemos o no somos consientes que cada día muchos animales van muriendo por alguna bolsa plástica o otro desecho sólido. Se va perdiendo ese espacio de las playas.

¿Quienes somos? Somos Creemos Sucre, una Organización no gubernamental (ONG) que tiene 4 años de ser creada, tiene un próposito bien claro que es: Querer a Cumaná, concientizar y tener sentido de pertenencia a nuestra tierra tan calurosa que tenemos. Transmitir ese mensaje bien claro a los ciudadanos de a pie, pues, la mayoría acostumbramos a quejarnos mucho de la Ciudad, admito que he sido una pero no nos pasa por la mente hacer algo por ella y cuidarla. Por ello, he decidido unirme como Voluntaria y esta fue mi primera actividad que he hecho. A continuación, quiero compartirles un poco lo que hicimos:

Preserving our beaches is essential for the environment, and having a neat and clean space to enjoy them with respect and devotion. That is why today, September 17th, being World Beaches Day, we are collecting solid waste in our beloved San Luis beach, with the objective of recovering and taking care of these spaces in the State of Sucre.

We do not know or we are not aware that every day many animals are dying because of some plastic bag or other solid waste. This space on the beaches is being lost.

Who are we? We are Creemos Sucre, a non-governmental organization (NGO) that has 4 years of being created and has a very clear purpose which is: To love Cumaná, raise awareness, and have a sense of belonging to our land so warm that we have. Transmit that message very clearly to the ordinary citizens, because, most of us are used to complaining a lot about the city, I admit that I have been one but it does not cross our minds to do something for it and take care of it. Therefore, I have decided to join as a Volunteer and this was the first activity that I have done. Next, I want to share with you a little bit of what we did:

La playa San Luis, es una conocida playa de Cumaná donde muchos Cumaneses y de otros Estados la visitan siempre. Creo que somos bendecidos por tener la playa cerca, donde podemos ir cualquier día sin importar si es Semana Santa o no, es tipo un día tranquilo y dices "¡Ay estoy aburrido, vamos a la playa! y te vas con 10 panes y 2 refrescos a disfrutar de esta playa con tus amigos o familiares. Sentarse en la arena y solo mirar las olas que pasan mientras las escuchas, te da una tranquilidad enorme. En ocasiones puede estar fría o caliente, sin embargo, de que es sabrosa, lo es.

San Luis Beach, is a well-known beach in Cumaná where many people from Cumaná and other states always visit it. I think we are blessed to have the beach nearby, where we can go any day no matter if it is Easter or not, it is kind of a quiet day and you say "Oh I'm bored, let's go to the beach! and you go with 10 loaves of bread and 2 sodas to enjoy this beach with your friends or family. Sitting on the sand and just watching the waves go by while you listen to them, gives you a huge tranquility. Sometimes it can be hot or cold, however, if it is tasty, it is.

Siempre me ha gustado participar en este tipo de actividad, principalmente me gusta ser Voluntaria. Lo he sido en Fundaciones como Dr Sonrisa "Payasos de Hospital", ser Recreadora, organizar con mi grupo de mi carrera iniciativas como recaudar útiles escolares o comida para niños o personas de la tercera edad. Contribuir un poco en cada uno de esos espacios me ha hecho sentir satisfecha y contenta.

En la playa San Luis conseguí muchos vidrios pequeños, botella de vidrio, envolturas de comida, bolsas plásticas, residuos, pepas de mangos y tusa de maíz. Que hacen mucho daño a las playas y fuimos a depositarlo en una bolsa grande donado por Ferreteria Epa y estuvimos contabilizando lo que llevabamos en una lista para llevar el control. Se llevaron las bolsas a protección civil que se encarga de desecharlo.

I have always liked to participate in this type of activity, mainly I like to be a volunteer. I have been in Foundations such as Dr. Sonrisa's "Hospital Clowns", being recreational, organizing with my career groups initiatives such as collecting school supplies or food for children or elderly people. Contributing a little in each of these spaces has made me feel satisfied and happy.

In San Luis beach I got a lot of small glass, glass bottles, food wrappers, plastic bags, garbage, mango kernels, and corn husks. They do a lot of damage to the beaches and we went to deposit it in a big bag donated by Ferreteria Epa and we were counting what we were taking in a list to keep track. The bags were taken to Civil Protection which is in charge of disposing of them.

Estuvimos desde la mañana, aproximadamente como a las 8:30 am.,terminamos felices porque en equipo aportando un granito de arena construimos algo muy grande y que marcamos la diferencia. Espero que el Cumanes cuida su propio pulmón para poder habitar en el y seguir disfrutando más como Ciudadanos que somos, por ese amor a Cumaná, tierra de Gracia.

Nos dieron guantes, camisas y protector solar para protegernos. Nos explicaron como era la dinámica de la actividad y todo salió muy bien.

We were there since the morning, approximately at 8:30 a.m., and we ended up happy because as a team, contributing a grain of sand, we built something very big and we made a difference. I hope that the Cumanes takes care of their own lung to be able to live in it and continue to enjoy more as citizens than we are, for that love to Cumaná, the land of Grace.

We were given gloves, shirts, and sunscreen to protect us. They explained the dynamics of the activity and everything went very well.
