Tuve el honor de conocer e interactuar con Ronel Rivas Escultor, Pintor y Artista Plástico. Ese día estaba muy contenta, ya que había asistido a un evento en la Casa Ramos Sucre, actividad que les compartiré pronto. Al pasar me detuve. Estaba este artista restaurando la Escultura de nuestro poeta Andrés Eloy Blanco. Quién nos dejó un legado de inmensos tesoros literarios.
Esa tarde me emocioné cuando el Escultor me dijo:yo soy el creador de esta obra. Wow me sorprendió como hacía su trabajo. No dudé en preguntar algunas cosas relacionadas con lo que estaba haciendo. El trabajo de restauración de la escultura.

I had the honor to meet and interact with Ronel Rivas Sculptor, Painter and Plastic Artist. Cómo sabemos el paso del tiempo, la interperie, sol, lluvia, factores ambientales y climáticos contribuyen al desgaste y deterioro de aspectos exteriores de esta escultura. De acuerdo al artista esta obra la construyó con cabilla galvanizada y concreto entre los materiales más importantes.
Para la restauración estaba utilizando fibra de vidrio y dandole el color bronce envejecido. Me impresioné de la dedicación y esmero por su trabajo, lo cual detuvo por un momento para atenderme. Compartir y conversar con un talentoso y valioso artista plástico, me llena de orgullo. El aporte incalculable que con su arte hace crecer el valor cultural y turístico por lo que representa ésta imagen patrimonio de Cumaná.
Como Sucrense y Cumanesa me siento honrada de conocer a tan importante y prometedor personaje. Lo menos que podía hoy era resaltar su maravilloso arte.

Ésta escultura de nuestro querido Poeta Andrés Eloy Blanco, sentado en un banco en la entrada de su Casa Natal; refleja lo importante que es para cada ciudadano de esta ciudad su aporte y legado. Llamando la atención de todos los nativos y los que nos visitan desde otros lugares. Imagen que saluda, recuerda e invita a mirar, entrar y conocer más de los valores culturales, literarios, turísticos y patrimonio cultural.
He visto como las personas que pasan caminando cerca del lugar se toman fotos y hasta yo misma me he tomado fotos en la entrada de la casa junto a la escultura. Me hace muy felíz haber conocido y presenciado el valioso trabajo de este gran artista, orgullo de nuestra ciudad.
