Saludos amigos hiver, siempre es un placer compartir estas lineas con ustedes, hoy quiero hablarles de un lugar colmado de historias, lugar que no resulta del agrado de muchos, pero al que todos, tarde o temprano, algún día vamos a parar.
La palabra cementerio se origina del vocablo griego koimētḗrion y significa "lugar para dormir" por ello al hacer referencia al "descanso eterno" o "que descanse en paz" (QDEP) indirectamente hacemos alusión al lugar donde reposan los restos humanos de nuestros ancestros.
Greetings friends hiver, it is always a pleasure to share these lines with you, today I want to talk about a place full of stories, a place that is not liked by many, but to which we all, sooner or later, someday we will stop.
The word cemetery originates from the Greek word koimētḗrion and means "place to sleep" so when we refer to "eternal rest" or "rest in peace" (QDEP) we indirectly allude to the place where the human remains of our ancestors rest.
El origen de los cementerios tiene larga data, en un principio se acostumbraba a enterrar a los seres queridos en los terrenos de las familias, sin embargo, por motivos de higiene, esta práctica religiosa fue modificada por un decreto de ley en el que prohibió depositar restos humanos en las ciudades, por ello, los legisladores de la época establecieron que se destinarían espacios específicos a las afueras de la ciudad con ese propósito.
Históricamente los cementerios se constituyeron como el espacio institucional de la muerte, en el cual convergen diversas formas religiosas de practicar y asumir la despedida física de nuestros familiares y seres queridos, es por ello que, en países de Latinoamérica, y en particular, en la tradición católica Venezolana, se conmemora el día de "los fieles difuntos"
The origin of cemeteries dates back a long time, in the beginning it was customary to bury loved ones in the land of the families, however, for reasons of hygiene, this religious practice was modified by a decree of law that prohibited the deposition of human remains in the cities, therefore, the legislators of the time established that specific spaces would be destined to the outskirts of the city for that purpose.
Historically, cemeteries were constituted as the institutional space of death, in which different religious forms of practicing and assuming the physical farewell of our relatives and loved ones converge, which is why, in Latin American countries, and in particular, in the Venezuelan Catholic tradition, the day of "the faithful departed" is commemorated.
Cada 02 de noviembre, fecha en la que los creyentes rendimos homenaje a quienes se han ido de este mundo, con rituales como llevar flores a los cementerios, encender velas, orar por su descanso o mandan a hacer misas en su nombre, como parte de una tradición en la que se reconoce la muerte como un proceso natural de la vida y que está íntimamente ligada con la celebración del "Día de Todos los Santos"
El Día de Todos los Santos es una celebración cristiana que se conmemora el 01 de noviembre en honor de los Santos o Beatos, así como también por todos los difuntos que vivieron en santidad y ahora gozan de la vida eterna más allá del purgatorio.
Every November 2nd, believers pay homage to those who have left this world, with rituals such as taking flowers to the cemeteries, lighting candles, praying for their rest or have masses said in their name, as part of a tradition in which death is recognized as a natural process of life and which is closely linked to the celebration of "All Saints Day".
All Saints Day is a Christian celebration commemorated on November 1st in honor of the Saints or Blessed, as well as for all the deceased who lived in holiness and now enjoy eternal life beyond purgatory.
En general el 01 y 02 de noviembre son fechas especiales que forman parte de nuestras tradiciones, son pieza fundamental de la cultura religiosa, en la que se acostumbra a colocar ofrendas en altares, elevar oraciones, alabanzas y cantos a los muertos y en particular visitar en su última morada a nuestros difuntos, acudir a los cementerios como remembranza de los buenos momentos y el deseo de que en el Reino de Dios exista el anhelado paraíso y la vida eterna, amén.
Ya para finalizar les comento que las imágenes de este post se corresponden al Cementerio Municipal de Cumaná, uno de los más antiguos, ubicado en el casco historico de la ciudad, allí se puede apreciar una serie de mausoleos y una pequeña capilla en la entrada principal, sin embargo, no es el único cementerio local, en la ciudad también existen otros tres cementerios ubicados en cantarrana, el tacal y caiguire, donde descansan en paz nuestros fieles difuntos.
In general, November 1st and 2nd are special dates that are part of our traditions, they are a fundamental part of the religious culture, in which it is customary to place offerings on altars, raise prayers, praises and songs to the dead and in particular to visit our dead in their last resting place, go to the cemeteries as a remembrance of the good times and the desire that in the Kingdom of God there is the longed for paradise and eternal life, amen.
Finally, the images of this post correspond to the Municipal Cemetery of Cumana, one of the oldest, located in the historic center of the city, there you can see a series of mausoleums and a small chapel at the main entrance, however, it is not the only local cemetery, in the city there are also three other cemeteries located in cantarrana, tacal and caiguire, where our faithful departed rest in peace.
