Triple Frontier is an action movie by Netflix that has been released worldwide since a few days.
With this film Netflix manages to insert an original product within a genre, the action one, which has always been a source of satisfaction for production companies.
In order to attract a large slice of the audience, the streaming platform has focused on about five names that for one reason or another attract the audience like magnets.
The special team, the task force that will be composed from the very first bars of the film will in fact be the result of 5 characters and 5 faces well known in the world of TV and cinema.
The spearhead is certainly Ben Affleck, visibly compacted and fattened up, and just back from the controversy and failures of his Batman, from whom he recently separated himself not without emotional and image trauma.
However, it remains a resounding name that guarantees performance and physicality of the highest level.
And he will be the real fulcrum of the actions of the other 4 driven by different motivations but united by a desire to collect something after a life of sacrifice and suffering in the name of their nation.
The 5 protagonists are in fact, who for one reason, who for another, members of special forces or former members who over the years have fought as warriors in every part of the world to meet the demands of their mother country made in the U.S.A.
In spite of this they find themselves to be outcasts, men who find it hard to pay bills or find a job or at the margins of the army and society.
One of them will offer the other four a big score. Gathering the task force and robbing a drug lord to get a huge amount of money to split evenly. We're talking tens and tens of millions of dollars.
After the initial reluctance, the job will be done.
Oscar Isaac plays the guy who's gonna try to convince the others. Another important name for this film, he who, between Oscar nominations and important roles in films like Star Wars or X Men, is one of the most appreciated actors in Hollywood.
To accompany 2 names of such great importance come 2 figures of incredible weight in the serial landscape.
The first is Charlie Hunnam, unforgettable Jax Teller in Kurt Sutter's Shaksperiana Sons Of Anarchy. An incredible character who has been making his way into the cinema for some years now.
The second one is Pedro Pascal, Lena Headey's companion and who came to the forefront for his iconic role as the Red Adder in Game Of Thrones. Later he managed to win the attention of many people thanks to his role in Narcos and today he's more and more started a career as a protagonist also in cinema.
To close the super-five a well-known face of action cinema, that Garret Hedlund who lends face and body to the nth muscle film.
Returning to the film there is really little to say.
A genre film, well made, that respects all the action mice.
It hardly ever goes out of line, but at the same time, it hardly ever exalts.
It lacks the comic outlet, it lacks the allegiance through words and jokes of at least one character and it lacks the superoriginal stunts but all in all the film manages to entertain very well.
And this is the space that such a film has to occupy. Pure entertainment for a film to watch maybe while you're at the table or while you're semi-committed in other activities as it doesn't require an exaggerated attention to detail.
If you're a lover of the genre then it's worth giving it a chance, otherwise skipp and watch something else.
