Saweuk is a village located in the hinterland of North Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia. The village is surrounded by rice fields and a fairly dense rain forest.
For those of you who love photography, especially those who are interested in macro photography, Saweuk is a paradise for insects. There are many unique and rare insects that inhabit the Saweuk forest.
If you visit there, you can easily find a variety of fascinating wild insects such as butterflies, moths, dragonflies, damselflies, beetles, and other unique insects.
In Saweuk, there is a river of rocks that originates from the Bukit Barisan. The most interesting thing is that you can see the jewel damselflies (Libellago lineata) that often perch on the rocks sticking out of the river. They are quite calm, even when you try to approach them.
Here are jewel damselflies that I captured some time ago. I will contribute these photos to Hive Stock Images. Thank you.
