When I was a kid, I used to play in my neighbor's garden. There are many plants, flowers and fruits in the garden. Every afternoon I and my friends spend time in the garden playing, joking, or making other fun. What caught my attention at that time were flowers with very "striking" and colorful colors. Yes ! It's a Zinnia flower!

Although it has the name zinnia flower, this plant is more familiarly called "paper flower". This flower has several kinds of colors like other ornamental flowers. The shape of this zinnia flower is circular from the arrangement of the petals into one. Has small leaves and the presence of fine hairs on the surface.

This flower usually develops and grows well in the tropics. How to grow zinnia flowers is also not difficult. Because it can grow even if only stocked on the ground. Zinnia flowers or "paper flowers" have a variety of flower color variants. There are zinnias that have bright pink, orange and even pale pink flowers or tend to be milky white.

What's interesting is that in this garden I found flowers with unique shapes but have a strong smell. My friends call this "Bunga tahi ayam" or in English flower "Chicken poop" Lol 😂. Tagetes (Marigolds) is often called dung kotok or chicken dung because of its pungent smell but has a unique flower shape and striking color. Tagetes belongs to the Compositae family (Asteraceae) and has 59 species. This plant is one of the ornamental herbs commonly used as a hedge plant. As a biological controller, Tagetes is called a “refugia plant” which is a plant that grows around cultivated plants that have the potential as micro-habitats for natural enemies (parasitoids and predators).

I took a photo of these flowers in the garden near my house, in the artificial lake that I posted a few days ago. Seeing these flowers reminds me of my happy memories when I was young with my little friends, it was so beautiful it was hard for me to forget.

Cuando era niño, solía jugar en el jardín de mi vecino. Hay muchas plantas, flores y frutas en el jardín. Todas las tardes, mis amigos y yo pasamos tiempo en el jardín jugando, bromeando o divirtiéndonos. Lo que me llamó la atención en ese momento fueron las flores con colores muy "llamativos" y vistosos. Sí ! ¡Es una flor de Zinnia!

Aunque tiene el nombre de flor de zinnia, esta planta se conoce más familiarmente como "flor de papel". Esta flor tiene varios tipos de colores como otras flores ornamentales. La forma de esta flor de zinnia es circular debido a la disposición de los pétalos en uno. Tiene hojas pequeñas y presencia de finos pelos en la superficie.

Esta flor generalmente se desarrolla y crece bien en los trópicos. Cómo cultivar flores de zinnia tampoco es difícil. Porque puede crecer incluso si solo se siembra en el suelo. Las flores de zinnia o "flores de papel" tienen una variedad de variantes de color de flores. Hay zinnias que tienen flores de color rosa brillante, naranja e incluso rosa pálido o tienden a ser de color blanco lechoso.

Lo interesante es que en este jardín encontré flores con formas únicas pero con un olor fuerte. Mis amigos llaman a esto "Bunga tahi ayam" o en inglés flor "Chicken poop" Jajaja 😂. Tagetes (caléndulas) a menudo se llama estiércol kotok o estiércol de pollo debido a su olor acre, pero tiene una forma de flor única y un color llamativo. Como controlador biológico, Tagetes se denomina "planta refugio", que es una planta que crece alrededor de plantas cultivadas que tienen el potencial como microhábitats para enemigos naturales (parasitoides y depredadores).

Tomé una foto de estas flores en el jardín cerca de mi casa, en el lago artificial que publiqué hace unos días. Ver estas flores me recuerda mis recuerdos felices cuando era joven con mis amiguitos, era tan hermoso que me costaba olvidarlo.
