Nauclea is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. This species is an evergreen tree or shrub native to paleotropics. Terminal vegetative shoots are usually very flat. The generic name comes from the Ancient Greek words naus, meaning "ship" and kleio, meaning "close".
