I was about to delete these photos but then I guess it's better to share this with you Hive.
Sometimes I do some living from fish harvest near my area but it takes months to harvest again so I can only make a little profit from it and I want to share it with you.
To be honest from harvest and peddling is very tough. Harvester have to deal with hot sunny days and the difficulty of dragging and pulling the nets to harvest the fish
Luckily my husband's parents have this small fish pond where we can get fish.
In harvesting, whoever wants to help with an exchange of some fish gather in this small hut that is supposedly our shelter when still have the rice field before.
It's much better to do the work very early in the morning so it's not hot but on another side of those big ponds where I buy and sell fish, they work on it depending on tides so whether it's rain or shine the work must go on.
So this is the small flat pond my in-laws owned. This is where we can get fish for free and sometimes if we're lucky we can harvest many fishes without putting in some effort because if those big ponds got small holes that mud crabs caused there's a big chance small fishes will transfer.
Using long nets that have a bamboo pole at both ends they drag it to the other end of the pond to catch the fish.
That time we got an abundant harvest. We harvest those fish because if we won't a big chance they will transfer back to neighbouring ponds and they can't grow because they're been overpopulated already.
After harvest fish are brought to the hut to be segregated its size, kilo and to give some to that help and the rest is what I've peddled to our neighbours.
I buy and sell fish for profit
When harvest season I travel to this beautiful pond that is just a few minutes walk from our house to buy stuff and resell this to houses.
I buy 10-20 kilos and let somebody bring them home and clean them for selling.
I can earn 20-40 per cent per kilo but then it take months to harvest again and as of this moment I guess it will take longer to harvest again because of what happened the other months that most of the ponds got destroyed from the strong storm.
