Lead by my Son
Even though I have not lived with blind person in the house, i have family friend who's husband is blind. He was not born blind but as a result of sickness, he lost his sight. This Man is always happy despite his Challenges. He changed the sorrowful condition to a situation that people love associating with him.
He was working when this happened. Because of the way he handled his situation, instead of losing his job, he was promoted as an advicer. He made an arrangement for the blind teacher to teach him. His learning was so fast since the blind doesn't face distraction.
One day i asked him how he made life so easy for himself.
"He said it wasn't easy for him to cope but since it has happened, he has no choice than to accept it. He also said that life on its own is hard, he needed to make it easier for himself and his family" . honestly his attitude worth imitating.
What i will do if I am blind for a day
First i should understand that a day is temporary. I have to accept it and rearrange my activities for the day. I will tell my last born that he will not go to school so that he can lead me around the house especially my garden, in the kitchen and my hive activities.
He will take me to the garden to see how the water leaf is doing. I will ask him to water them and tell me how the leaves are doing. He will be my eyes for the day. After that he will take me to the kitchen. For him it will be fun because he will not really understand it because I will not feel bad about it.
He will take me to the kitchen to get drinking water even to cook. I will not sit and send him to do everything because I don't want to bore him. If i go with him, he will not feel too bad. I will also ask him to lead me to the office. I will tell him to be careful when we are walking on the road so that I don't fall inside gotta, hahahaha.
I know my boy He can be so funny so i will make him to know that I am not seeing anything. I am imagining how people on my street will feel. From house to the junction where i will enter bus is about 5 minutes but i tell you it may take an hour before i will reach because my good neighbors will want to know what happened. Customers along the street will ask, Mama Uzomah, what happened, you know nah, the explanation will take some time. Many will direct me to different doctors or clinic to check what the problem is. The news will be every where.
Meditation
Only God who can read the heart will tell all i will meditate on in that 24 hours. The one that will trouble me more is, what if this is not a prank, hehehe, what will I tell all my client if this is real that i will not see things again, will i maintain positive attitude like the man in my story and many more. Do you know I will also think about my grand children, i will only know them by voice not be face again. Chaii, thank God is temporary. Hahaha.
Conclusion
Life can change and give us what we don't want, our positive attitude will help us to endure. Take life jeje and live long. What ever you can not change, you don't need to kill yourself over it. Take life as you see it.
