So I thought deeply of these medical Instruments known as the stethoscope and sphygmomanoter which I said my post should be expected soon after my Introductory post. Having been a Medical personnel, I see the need to enlighten some of us about it uses and what it means. However, most medical personnel know about this Instruments and make use of it almost every day in the hospitals, at home or elsewhere.
The term sphygmomanometer was coined or derived from a combination of two Greek terms or words known as "sphygmos," which refers to the heart's beating or pulse, and "manometer," which refers to a device for measuring pressure or tension.
Stethoscope: Is a Medical instrument that is used to examine or auscultate the human blood pressure while the
Sphygmomanoter: Is also a Medical instrument that detects and measures blood pressure. It is also known or has synonyms known as blood pressure gauge, blood pressure meter, or a blood pressure monitor. It's used by measuring the force exerted by the heart in moving blood, this gadget may measure blood pressure. It is beneficial to keep track of vital signs, particularly blood pressure, heart rate, and rhythm. It can also be used to listen to heart and breathing sounds. When the ventricles contract, precise results are obtained and some said it's best to check early in the morning when you're calm and relaxed.
It's very very important for one to know his or her Blood pressure to avoid having hypertension or hypotension. The normal value or range of blood pressure is said to be
from 120-80 millimeters mercury (mmhg).

However, there are different types of Sphygmomanoter known as Mercury Sphygmomanometer, Aneroid sphygmomanoter, Digital sphygmomanoter and Vetenerian sphygmomanoter. The mercury sphygmomanometer is considered the "gold standard," reflecting the conventional and time tested way of measuring blood pressure and contains a liquid substance inside known as Mercury.
Aneroid sphygmomanometer is a device that stands on the stans or walls and is made up of a spring mechanism and a metal membrane that converts the signals from the cuff and operates a needle in the gauge.
Because there is no liquid present, this gadget are very portable and can be easily and readily transferred from one place to another.
Digital sphygmomanometer comes in handy when blood pressure needs to be tested at home. Diastolic and systolic blood pressures can also be measured. Simply insert the rubber node into the monitor's hole and wrap the cuff over the upper arm. When you press the button, it will calculate your blood pressure and heart rate using oscillometric detection.
The digital type has monitor device that can display the results. It is portable, convenient, can even be charged and requires no calibrations and it's easy and simple to use.
Vetenerian sphygmomanoter is another type of Sphygmomanoter used by Vetenerian Doctors to measure the blood pressure of animals. However, many people or Health personnel do not know about this type of stethoscope due to the fact that Vetenery Medicine is rarely practice in some other places.
