I ran across someone on YouTube yesterday whose experiences resonated with me. I remind myself that it has been a long time since my good days outnumbered the mediocre and bad ones. Long enough to think that there's something more at work. Certainly, I have not been healthy since moving to my present house. (In fact, I was physically healthier when living in a rat-poop-infested, off-grid cabin being screamed at (abusively) by my benefactor at least once a month.) So, I have to consider something more.
Listening to the man yesterday (who I plan to listen to again), I realized that it's possible we're living under a curse or hex or something. (Given some of the people around us, I wouldn't be surprised.) So, I took what he did and altered it just enough to apply to us and our home.
(We must have something unwanted around anyway since things are being hidden right now - which must stop.)
First step - Preparing...
I set up the candle magick first.
I used a glass bowl (blue, as it turned out - which is appropriately protective).
I added some activated charcoal which should absorb and dissipate negative energies.
I added some storm water (water collected from a thunder storm) to combat bad energies and some snow water (collected from a snow fall last spring) to add new, good energies.
Then, I placed my candle holder and a large candle. (Turned out to be green - which could represent balance and health, not to mention money and prosperity - something we could also use.)
I poured salt around the candle to protect our work from evil.
Finally, I put salt around the whole thing on the counter.
This candle is meant to be burned every day for a week or until the energies have healed or the candle burns away.
Here's what it looked like once it was lit for awhile...
I invoked the god and goddess as well as the angels/guardians to assist in making the house a peaceful place of harmony.
Second step - Cleansing/Clearing
I took several steps on this.
I first took some holy water (blessed either by a priest or under the moon) and sprinkled it into every corner of each room ridding bad energies and declaring that only love and good energies may inhabit this place. (I also spent a few moments to invite a little girl ghost who lives here to move on to see her guardians and her soul group so that she can move on.)
I lit some sage and used my homemade turkey-feather "fan" to disperse the smoke in each room, one at a time. Again, I banished bad energies and welcomed the good.
Next, I had one of my girls take dragonsblood incense around the house to further cleanse and purify the home.
I also set up a charcoal disk with some lovely Indian incense resin that I picked up at Natural Grocers. I used a little of everything because they all seemed appropriate - and smelled nice.
Later, I took some nag champa incense around as well to help bless and sanctify the home.
Finally, I put salt across the thresh-hold of our home to try to keep negative entities outside. (My husband once noted that he felt something literally stripped off him as he came in.)
Third step - Magick
Placing the lit candle near a place of traffic, the assignment was to visualize our family surrounded by a cleansing/protective/purifying white light, making the place one of peace and harmony. This visualization was meant to happen each time we passed the candle.
Now, I'm terrible at visualization, so I made sure I actually said it as I saw my candle. I also didn't manage it as often as I probably should have, but a few times, anyway.
By the end of the day, energies are definitely feeling a bit gentler and kinder. We'll see what it's like after the end of the week.
Magickal notes:
I don't think we've got major hex/curse problems - just enough to cause discontent and unhappiness. If I expected anything worse, I would have been a lot more aggressive on the cleansing and magick.
Whenever you see some magick where you don't have everything on hand (and that happens more often than not, in my experience), think about intentions and properties of what you do have. I think that's important because magick can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be. Any kind of candle magick can be done with simple tea light candles. Salt is a general cleanser... water charged in moonlight is free. (As I share with you, I will give you ways of doing things for free or very cheaply. I don't believe in spending a lot of money on magick.)
