I missed my Sports Nerd show tonight...
It's the 'planned' Sunday content I've been posting on the blockchain for the past few years. And when I 'break' out of my schedule, sometimes I find it extremely difficult to jump back on the horse.
Building habits is a blessing and a curse lol.
Because you work so hard to get into a groove, but if you stumble it's not always the easiest to jump back into the habit. So what am I going to do.....?
Complain? Whine? Woe is me????
Nope!
When this happens, I usually dive into my 'arsenal of ideas' which are my personal journals. I've accumulated thousands of quotes, concepts and ideas over the past few decades of being a student of personal development and success thinking. I credit that 'habit' of writing things down to the legendary influencer Jim Rohn.
Side note: Here's a link to one of the talks he did about the importance of journaling, it's well worth the time to soak it up!
Back to my 'falling off the horse'....I was really stuck tonight, but then I kept seeing a familiar theme in all the notes I had written down.
Take action!
This seems like the most obvious of all answers when it comes to getting out of a rut, but like they say...Easier said than done!
We can read all the books in the world. Attend every online seminar or TED talk there is. Listen to every thought leader on the planet...But if we don't take action, nothing matters.
And here's the crazy thing about taking action....The more you 'do' the easier things get. Law of attraction I suppose, like attracts like, but luck seems to show up when you aren't sitting on the sidelines, or feeling sorry for yourself.
This is something I have noticed over the years of creating content and building businesses online...Amazing things happen, when you pull up your boots and get to work. Opportunities start to show up, and materialize right before you eyes.
Now before someone thinks I'm a pseudo-science major here and we must THINK it all and it'll just show up, that's not what I'm saying at all. Positive mindsets are great and all, but the actual MOVEMENT of doing things, pushes you forward. Will everything you create, write or build be a huge hit? Absolutely not...
But I guarantee you, the more action you take, the quicker you can get back on that horse and start seeing some results.
So some advice, if you want my input on things lol
Don't worry about being perfect.
Don't stress too much about delivering a Pulitzer Prize winning article.
Don't concern yourself with critics.
Just do it!
Get out there, put pen to paper and take some action....
Believe me, your future self will thank you :)
