This spring the world's largest warship "USS Gerald R. Ford" did visit the Oslofjord Norway, from Wednesday 24 to Tuesday 30 May. After this visit it will sail up thewestcoast of Norway, and then further North in the country.
It is the first time an American aircraft carrier has visited Norway since 1959. In addition to a crew of 4,500, the ship accommodates 90 planes and helicopters.
It became a big event that they came to our country, and people from all over scandinavia has been visiting Oslo, just to get a little glimt of this amazing large aircarrier.
Allso the shopes, bars and resturants in the capital, has been very happy for this visit, do to so many soldiers and staff been visiting the City.
And its been reported from the police, that there has been nothing to complain about as they visiting our Capital - Oslo.
The ship will participate in several exercises together with the Norwegian Army, the Air Force, the Navy and the Defense's special forces.
It will allso be part of the NATO: Arctic Challenge Exercise.
Practicing together gives the Norwegian Armed Forces a unique opportunity to further develop cooperation and work more closely together with the United States.
