It was quite chilly and overcast this morning as I took my early morning walk. At least it wasn't raining. I set off early. If I left it any later there would be no parking places. There was only one other car when I arrived at my destination.
I decided to go down the cart track. All was going well until I got to the part where it was completely flooded. I did manage to get to the higher part of the path to avoid walking through the flood water.
I came to a wooden gate which is always padlocked. I didn't have any choice but climb over the stone stile at the side of the gate. It is quite high up but I did it. I then carried on up the hill.
The mist in the distance was clinging to the trees in the forest. It was quite bitter at the top of the hill so I didn't go too far.
As I turned back, I noticed that I hadn't seen the lovely silver birch trees on my way up.
After scrambling over the stone stile again, I decided to go a slightly different way along the edge of the forest. I don't like going back the same way I came. It was a bit awkward to climb over the small stream. The stones are usually covered in slippery moss or lichen. I'm tall, so I have a long stride, so I managed to get over to finish my walk in one piece.
