In the winter, this particular country park doesn’t amount to much. In other seasons, it’s completely different, as blossom, dandelions and wildflowers appear in abundance.
In the car park, I saw the downside of human behaviour ... fly tipping. In this case, a discarded television! I’m not excusing fly tippers, but there's been an increase because some councils have made it harder to use recycling centres. People may need to register in advance and can only use sites in their own area. My centre is quite small, so I tend to use a larger one so I'm in and out quickly instead of having to queue. Not being able to use the larger one is a pain in the bum, so some people end up dumping rubbish illegally, instead.
I don’t think I've seen so many dandelion clocks in one area before. I decided to walk down the side of the pond.
Afterwards, I ended up in the wooded area. As well as blossom on the trees, there were bluebells, white bluebells, and cowslips.
I came out of the wood and walked around the park area.
Dog walkers were out in force, and a few people were sitting on park benches, taking in the view.
I headed back towards my car. The dumped television was still there, which is a shame really. It spoils what is a decent place for a walk. It’s not the most exciting park, but at this time of year it’s quite pretty with the flowers.
