Leaving aside the motivation that one may have, at a certain moment, to open that metaphorical Pandora's Box, which, in some intimate and cognitive way, are, for each one of us, the labyrinths of our memory, there are occasions when that we carry out, in an intimate way and freed from the heavy burden of prejudices and false appearances, the same thing that the ancient Egyptians supposed happened when the hearts of the deceased were weighed: the balance of results of our lives.
Having spent more than half of my existence, like the brilliant Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, when he composed that marvel of hidden keys that is the Divine Comedy, I cannot but feel immensely happy with the accounting balance of my life, well, deep down, if I have to admit something, it is that this, in general terms, has been beautiful, fruitful in experiences and learning, and above all, happily balanced in triumphs and failures. For this reason, I cannot help but admit that, despite whoever regrets it, I have had a good life.
Dejando aparte la motivación que se pueda tener, en un momento determinado, para abrir esa metafórica Caja de Pandora, que, de alguna manera, íntima y cognitiva, son, para cada uno de nosotros, los laberintos de nuestra memoria, hay ocasiones en las que realizamos, de una manera íntima y liberada de la pesada carga de los prejuicios y de las falsas apariencias, eso mismo que los antiguos egipcios suponían que ocurría cuando se pesaba el corazón de los difuntos: el balance de resultados de nuestra vida.
Habiendo pasado yo también más de la mitad de existencia, como el genial poeta italiano, Dante Alighieri, cuando compuso esa maravilla de claves ocultas que es la Divina Comedia, no puedo, sino sentirme inmensamente feliz con el balance de la contabilidad de mi vida, pues en el fondo, si algo he de reconocer, es que ésta, en líneas generales, ha sido hermosa, fructífera en experiencias y en aprendizajes y sobre todo, felizmente equilibrada en triunfos y en fracasos. Por eso, no puedo por menos que reconocer, que, pese a quien le pese, yo he tenido una buena vida.
