Adventure, sometimes, also has its risks and consequently, limits, with the unexpected ghost of frustration, the illusion that was kept alive in our desires to achieve the objectives that we had previously set for ourselves. It is also part of that accounting of triumphs and failures, which we must accept without conditions, every time we decide to undertake the labyrinthine paths of Knowledge. But, in any case, the truth is that you must always maintain a positive attitude, because, although in this case, it was impossible for me to be able to study and enjoy - something essential - this artistic and priceless jewel, which sinks its foundations in the purest and most harmonious of that so-called pre-Romanesque or repopulation architecture - going back in time and to give you an idea, we can place it perfectly in the 9th century, which is said to be early - was not, at all, the accumulation of sensations and expectations derived from the intrusion into an ancient forest environment, in whose depths, lost in a sea of foliage and vegetation, it is located and which is not so easy to reach, but whose attack invites you to savor, fully, part of that nature of Cantabria, which still, after centuries, preserves all the strength and spell of its primitive essence. And, as that Brazilian writer very well stated, who not only set one of his best novels in another no less wonderful environment, such as the Stone Monastery, but also completed the Old Camino de Santiago, Paulo Coelho, we do not always arrive at places when we are expected. Possibly, the restoration works will last over time, given the sophisticated delicacy required by this ancient heritage monument, but the illusion, after all, remains alive, predicting a new adventure in the near future, in which to fully compensate of this first failure.
La aventura, en ocasiones, tiene también sus riesgos y en consecuencia, limita, con el inesperado fantasma de la frustración, la ilusión que se mantenía viva en nuestros deseos por llegar a alcanzar los objetivos que previamente nos habíamos marcado. Forma parte, además, de esa contabilidad de triunfos y fracasos, que hemos de aceptar sin condiciones, toda vez que decidimos emprender los laberínticos caminos del Conocimiento. Pero, de cualquier forma, lo cierto es que siempre hay que mantener una actitud positiva, porque, si bien en este caso, me fue imposible poder estudiar y disfrutar -algo esencial- de esta joya artística e inapreciable, que hunde sus cimientos en lo más puro y armónico de esa denominada arquitectura prerrománica o de repoblación -remontándonos en el tiempo y para que se hagan una idea, podemos situarla, perfectamente, en el siglo IX, que se dice pronto- no lo fue, en absoluto, el cúmulo de sensaciones y expectaciones derivadas de la intrusión en un entorno de bosque ancestral, en cuyas profundidades, perdida en un mar de follaje y vegetación se localiza y al que no es tan fácil llegar, pero cuya acometida, te invita a saborear, de pleno, parte de esa naturaleza de Cantabria, que todavía, al cabo de los siglos, conserva toda la fuerza y el hechizo de su primitiva esencia. Y es que, como muy bien afirmaba aquel escritor brasileño, que no sólo ambientó una de sus mejores novelas en otro entorno no menos maravilloso, como es el del Monasterio de Piedra, sino que, además, realizó el Camino Viejo de Santiago, Paulo Coelho, no siempre se llega a los lugares en el momento en el que se nos espera. Posiblemente, las obras de restauración se alarguen en el tiempo, dada la sofisticada delicadeza que requiere este antiguo monumento patrimonial, pero la ilusión, después de todo, se mantiene viva, augurando una nueva aventura, en un futuro próximo, en la que resarcirse plenamente de este primer fracaso.
