What’s up, Hive! This is how it happens. I’ve been on our blockchain since the summer of 2016 and during this time, I’ve recognized my blogging habits. If I miss a few days, I can fall off and that becomes a pattern. If I post for a few days consistently, that can also become a pattern. I decided to post last night, and with a blog this evening, I’m looking at another productive run of sharing work here. Pretty excited about it, honestly. For me to post, I have to have something worth sharing so it’s a force multiplier in how much photography I’ll get through.
That’s what I’m here to share tonight. At the peak of the pandemic, I had a commitment to be in Los Angeles in mid-November. I had wedding clients that were going for it and my options were to refund them the deposit, or make the trip at the COVID-19 height. The deposit was long since spent, so in truth, I didn’t have have any options. I booked a rental car and decided to drive to LA. Along the way, I stopped to visit my friend in Grand Junction, CO. While I was there, I shot with her good friend Racquel.
Racquel is a fitness instructor. She’d seen the extended catalog and I have amassed over the years and wanted to book a dark pinup session. I think for the two of us, this was an extremely overdue afternoon of creative collaboration. We found areas outside to start the shoot, then moved in doors to a beautiful historic home. The ornate furniture was the perfect compliment to my style. The lighting was soft and cold. One of the shoots where everything falls in to place.
I have another set of four images coming with Racquel in the next week or two. I’m inundated with work at the moment. It’s really difficult to sit with any photography at all. Tons of illustration, which is looking a lot like the life I’ve always wanted for myself. We’re doing incredible work in the NFT space at and few things brings me as much satisfaction as leaving my mark in that way.
and I are working on a personal project now that he’s vaccinated. Things are looking up. I’m optimistic.
