Since we want to take advantage of the good weather, we recently went out for a walk and thereby passed a larger shrine complex, which is located almost within stone's throw of the sea. That's where we wanted to go afterwards, but first we had taken a walk through the adjacent forest and drifted around for a while in the green nature.
And now we were standing in front of this shrine, and since it had been a while since we had been here last time, we didn't want to miss the chance to go inside and take a little walk.
Especially since they had laid out the red carpet especially for us that day. So we didn't want to be asked twice, but entered and had a look around. Even though there wasn't much new to discover, the atmosphere in this quite new looking shrine was once again captivating. Apparently, this shrine has some wealthy and generous supporters, who ensure with their donations that everything here is so well maintained and almost sparkles and shines.
That's fine with us, since this shrine really looks good. Often shrines are rather simple and plain, but here they really wanted to show what they have and what they are capable of.
But well, we were just here to have a look, and I always enjoy it very much to be impressed by this so special architecture, which you can discover in Japanese shrines and temples. Like here, when you're standing right in front of the main building, you immediately know what I'm talking about.
The beautiful blue sky did the rest and put us in a really great mood and provided nice pictoresque scenes around us. As usual, I had to take too many photos, but that's exactly why I'm now able to do this blog post and show you what I have seen there.
In front of the main building there is a larger area of well-manicured green lawn, which is bordered on both sides by a covered walkway. And right in the middle, there was the red carpet rolled out for us that day.
This lawn is also rather unusual for a shrine and at the moment I can't remember having seen anything similar in Japan so far. People here really seem to attach importance to presentation, in which they probably succeed.
In any case, I like to walk that extra lap through the shrine and get a little inspiration. Every time I'm here, I'm in a good mood and this place just makes me feel at ease. Maybe it's also due to the fact that I usually only come here when the weather is fine, and when the whole place is at its best.
Most of the time we also have our peace and quiet here and there are not so many people around, which is extra helpful if you want to relax and switch off a bit. And that's exactly why I'm going to come by here again one day, and then I'll walk the exact same round again. I am already looking forward to it quite much...
