There is always plenty of green and lots of hills to climb at Bowmont Park. It follows along the Bow River and is part of what are the foothills that start on the western side of the city of Calgary and go further west until eventually turning into the Rocky Mountains. You could also just stay on top and walk along the ridge, but it's not as interesting and eventually starts to deviate away from nature back into neighborhoods.
So I like to go down the winding hilly pathways and see what I might encounter. What I really like is that it is isolated but still fairly open so you can see anyone approach from a distance. It also reminds me of being exhausted from walking up and down hills when I look at these pictures but I feel like they were worth the trek.
