One of my favorite summer spots in New York City, The Rockaways!
Sure! this beaches may not be crystal clear waters with palm trees in the caribbean but it is what we have in a concrete city like NY.
For those not familiar with The Rockaways, it's a peninsula on Jamaica Bay that belongs to Queens.
Even to most new yorkers it feels as if the Rockaways belongs to Long Island and not "NYC" ( five boroughs ).
In this day I woke up with the desire for some beach time, since I live twenty minutes away from the beach I started to pack a few items and my dad quickly says it's gonna rain in the late afternoon. Mind you the weather channel only said light rain so I told him it's fine I will be there just for a couple of hours, so I went and here are some of the photos I wanted to share.
I hope you guys enjoy them.
Beach 105 - Boardwalk view of coming storm.
Amazing cloud formation, lighting and rainbow.
On my way home on the A train line.
View of Jamaica Bay from the A train line. The storm was a very strong but short and shifted towards the sea.
This last image is a bonus from another day at Rockaway Beach.
