I'm back the very next day. It's September 2nd 2020 and this is another Panoramic Window View of Down Town Los Angeles.
Volume number... anyone paying attention to these... volume number 30 yet? I don't have time for research... This post is way overdue. Going to LA and seeing these things in this time of uncertainty seems like a privilege and something silly not to take advantage of. It looks like the last time I posted a volume in this panoramic series was February 19th 2019: "Panoramic Window View of DTLA on Feb 12th 2019, Vol 26: Kid Schoffer, Steel Drum Bassist, Ink Runner, and Cajon Smacker In one day." I've considered abandoning volume numbers. It shouldn't matter. The new addition... is a next volume regardless of its subject content. If I use the images from a date in-between, I'll call it "retro" and stick to the numbering. The next logical question is do I call this volume 27 or 28? 28 , right? I'll double check... I got it. Volume 27 is this: Travel: Post COVID Panoramic Shot Tradition and someone’s errands between LA and OC? Todays post will be the official "soft continuation", volume number 28.
09/02/2020 - Different treasure hunt. Different "grateful to pay bills" feeling. Different vehicle, not the mini monster truck, yet a bigger dick now. I'm the thrasher car HHR. A favorite to all who experience homelessness. I'm not homeless, but lots of street characters and humans experiencing homelessness like to look at this car and me in it. I've seen lots of people homeless and in one. I know of someone that was homeless and in one. It's weird. I hope it's not a curse. I'm making it earn it's way.
I keep it dirty. IDGAF about chasing a nice paint job. Attachment to a clean car is just not my thing... oh and In-N-Out if not the best... maybe lowest of a top five list.

Famous bridge. The more famous sister to this bridge has been removed. Lots of car shots and movie footage taken in this area and the riverbed below. This image below is looking North and the cemented LA river bed is below. It's completely cement. Lots of movies in there...
Nice murals over here. I'm near that fancy coffee place I talked about once. Do you know those faces. It's not a boy band mural.
More stuff to look at as I make my way to the fashion district. I could probably make a few full posts featuring only murals. I pass by lots of them. Murals help cut down on graffiti. Some cities will paint over graffiti for you if you use a specific paint color on your property. I like Bruce Lee.

I'm getting closer now. I usually do a loop to see the changes and also to see what type of "street conditions" I can expect. Very empty compared to the past.

I arrive, lots of people are wearing masks. It's not a big deal. I worked in construction and would have preferred wearing a mask all day. The security situations have all changed. I need to have my temperature taken. They shoot me with a laser. Aiming a device a someones head and pulling the trigger... Is that being normalized? Kinda weird, but you know what they say... "don't hate the player, it's better than nothing?" Something like that. I get my unquantifiable cliches mixed up these days.
Look at this temperature guard's technique. Very polite. Not holding it like a gun. Bless his little temperature checking soul. He doesn't want anyone to feel imposed upon... If I were him I would be zapping lots of stuff. That battery would be dead AF by 10:30am.

Oh cool, I don't need to hold the door open and now that I've mentioned it, they will probably not allow me to do this anymore. Someone will come along and ruin this. It's Los Angeles/Orange County and eventually everyone ruins the nice things. Did I already say, "fvck In-N-Out?" I probably will if I haven't. I would rather get 5 Guys. I would rather get a Chicago Dog from Weinerschnitzel.

Can you see the image of a woman holding a baby? I try to image how I would approach a mural of that size... i guess I would use a projector and then trace the image on the wall... at night? Ever done a giant mural? Who teaches that?
I just had a great idea! Today, i'll play the odds and avoid driving down skid row! Lots to see along 7th street and the area around it, but don't linger unless you are well prepared. Remember what I said before about looking for pedestrians?Be carful and pay attention to the road.
I'll take my chances on the freeway today. I need to get home to revive my donut and air fryer research projects before funding runs out...
I'm learning the magic of simple pleasures. This air fryer in another form of a simple pleasures discipline. I hope to be a master of air fryer donut one day... although... I spoke to a donut master recently and he seemed very very curious about my donut air fryer skills. He even opened his drive-thru window to confirm what I had mention while I was inside. I told him about it again while standing in the car drive-thru window. It was a beautiful moment between two... donut friends. Isn't everything awesome?
