SEA and ANIMALS
One of my favorite birds to photograph is the Great Blue Heron.
The heron stands with legs apart as he watches in the shallow end of the water hoping to catch his dinner.
The heron is down to serious business now as he patrols the water.
Resting in the grass by the side of the water after catching fish for dinner.
I often see him near the Montague River when walking on the trail beside it. The Montague River is salt water from the Atlantic Ocean.
The Great Blue Heron usually migrates South to warmer waters for the winter and returns to P.E. I. in the spring. They have been known to stay around all year if there is open water but I haven’t seen any here in the winter.
