When something was wrong Miriam always went to the cliff to listen to the sea, the waves crashing hard on the rocks always had something to say to her, usually wise advice or simply an encouragement to do the right thing. This time, however, doing the right thing would have meant making someone suffer and this made everything more difficult.

Quando qualcosa non andava Miriam andava sempre alla scogliera ad ascoltare il mare, le onde che si infrangevano con impeto sulle rocce avevano sempre qualcosa da dirle, solitamente saggi consigli o semplicemente un incoraggiamento a fare la cosa giusta. Quella volta però fare la cosa giusta avrebbe significato far soffrire qualcuno e questo rendeva tutto più difficile.
