Hello everyone!
Welcome to Hive Music Festival Week 134, Round 2. It’s another beautiful opportunity for me to express my heartfelt gratitude to God through songs of praise. This week, I felt led to render a cover of the song “Yabo,” which simply means “Praise” in the Hausa language. This powerful song was originally performed by Solomon Lange, a renowned Nigerian gospel artist and motivational speaker whose songs have inspired me greatly over the years.
“Yabo” is one of those songs I hold dear to my heart because of its deeply meaningful lyrics and powerful message. It’s more than just music to me, it’s a song that lifts my spirit and helps me connect more deeply with God. Whenever I’m in a moment of reflection or I feel led to worship, this is one of the first songs that naturally comes to my lips. It brings me joy, peace, and a renewed sense of gratitude every time I sing it.
Another reason I chose “Yabo” for this week’s performance is the amazing coordination I observed in the original version. The harmony between the lead vocals, the backup singers, and the instrumentalists was absolutely seamless. Their unity and flow added to the beauty of the song, and I truly admire that level of excellence and spirit-led performance.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I sincerely hope you enjoy listening to my rendition just as much as I enjoyed singing it.
See Lyrics Below:
Some trust in chariots, some trust in horses
But we trust in the name of the Lord
Some trust in their skills, others trust in their kings
But we trust in the name of the Lord
When the arm of flesh will fail them; We’ll still be standing tall
‘Cause we trust in the name of the Lord
When they say “there’s a casting down”, We will say “there’s a lifting up”
‘Cause we trust in the name of the Lord
Yabo daga zuchiya (Praise from my heart) x3
Na baka (na baka) (I give to you) x2
