Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!
It's always interesting to revisit some of my previous cover. The ones I made when I was still making videos with multiple parts. For this second round, I have an interesting piece that I played 3 years ago. It's Luisa from the genre Danza Zuliana.
I have said stuff about the genre before. But the technical stuff is easy. It's a genre in 6/8. It is very similar to other ones from the same region. And some of these pieces are quite simple, but the rhythm is what makes them hard! I still remember trying to get everything right for that video with 3 instruments. My editing wasn't very good at the time, but I like to think both my music and editing skills have gone through several improvements since then.
My 6th Grade teacher was named Luisa. The song brought me back memories of those days when life wasn't so hard and the future was promising. That was years ago, but I remember that teacher as she was by far the one with a lot of cool stuff to say. She was quite a character. Beloved by her students. She must have taught a lot of people in Cumaná. She was well-known in town.
I doubt she'll ever watch this, but this cover is dedicated to that teacher. The one with the big metal ruler to make kids afraid and also to have every one fall in line. She was quite a singer as well. And she taught with sunglasses. How cool is that? Those were the days.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this cover. I basically learned to play this in soloist still the same day of recording. And by that I mean yesterday! How cool is that?
