I always interested to know how people find the places for their permanent housing (well, what is permanent in our life). For some of us, or for most of us, it’s very simple to say – here I prefer to stay for some period of my life, or even forever. Sounds like “catholic marriage” for many, who don’t usually agree to long commitments, sign documents for long-term housing, for a long stay in some randomly selected location that at first sight looks and feels like heaven but became the HELL after a few days, weeks, months or years – choose your amount of time.
I asked many people why do they live in some specific place. What or who influenced their choice. Not many could answer properly or had a crystal clear idea, why exactly some specific place or why the too long period of time to stuck an the place that does not really meet the requirements. Sadly, but most people just don’t have the patience to move from place to place dragging acquired property half (half???) of which is, in principle, unnecessary junk that is a pity to throw away. I really envy nomads and their independence from this unnecessary stuff. Their easy (???) but light movement from place to place and the wonderful possibility to try every place without any need for commitments and promises will stop forever.
And now I am smoothly moving from philosophy to photography. This series was photographed during the month of July in 4 different places – in 3 geographic locations. Jerusalem, Haifa, and the village of my living that is located exactly in the middle between two big cities. I’m starting this photo essay from Jerusalem (of course), after that, I move to Haifa located in the northern part of the country, after this a few shots from the garden of the place of my living and finally a few shots from the definitively permanent location of stay.
