Gratitude Changes Everything!!
The limbic system is the part of the brain that is responsible for all emotional experiences. It consists of the thalamus, hypothalamus, amygdala, hippocampus, and cingulate gyrus. Studies have shown that hippocampus and amygdala, the two main sites regulating emotions, memory, and bodily functioning, get activated with feelings of gratitude. Consistent evidence has established that what we call ‘emotions’ or ‘feelings’ are neural activations in the neocortical regions of the brain (Moll et al. 2005). A study conducted on individuals seeking mental health guidance revealed that participants of the group who wrote letters of gratitude besides their regular counseling sessions, felt better and recovered sooner. It's not just our own health, brain function and moods which improve with gratitude - teams, offices and communities THRIVE when Gratitude becomes a focus.

GRATITUDE ! Do you show appreciation? And do you show it enough?
Gratitude has given me the gift of happiness, without changing anything else around me, other than the way I choose to think, write or act. Oh and don’t worry i also have my flaws, sometimes I also get raged about things and flat text sometimes comes on very harsh, but the meaning is real. I started off with a little black book with things I was grateful for. I only put down one word, like family, my job, the sun. Later when I started blogging I wrote down, things worth remembering, persons i likes, quotes, blogs I needed to remember. Not a LOG book but my black BLOG book. After the blackbook was full I could really feel the shift. It became a Britt thing I was wanting to write more and felt like the act of taking the time to think about the good was becoming important to me. And also I got more blog ideas and some of the best blog started form a note in Britts Blog Book. Read more...
30 Days Gratitude Challenge: Day 3 / My Soul Full of Light - [Eng-Sp] Reto 30 Días de Agradecimiento: Día 3/ Mi Alma Llena de Luz
On my path through the world of spirituality, I have knocked on many doors and I have wandered many times, however, I believe that I am in the perfect moment where I should be and if I have to be grateful, it would be more than for that soul full of light, for that part of me where the light lives, that conscience that tells me not to do things that can harm others. That conscience that tells me to remember how much it hurt me and that I should not make what I do to others. Let's call it the principle of empathy. Read more....
