My dearest Beniamino again got a serious bite from another animal, and he turned up after missing breakfast AND lunch one day, asking for my help.
I know by now that the best approach with my domestic animals is to take one step back first, and wait for a signal or request from the animal. I added arnica homeopathic remedy to his water for the evident shock he had (and later sulphur).
I had many sessions daily, cleaning with a particular alcohol which doesn't sting so much like oxygenated water, and then holding a pad with dampened ash into the wound for as long as possible...
Which wasn't so long! Clean wood ash is an important local folk remedy for cleaning wounds (and making soap), as I was instructed some years ago by neighbours. It had a strong anti-inflammatory effect, creating a much less angry looking paw.
This time, as had happened a couple of years ago, it was pretty damn swollen up, looking like a Mickey Mouse (Topolino) glove, and oozing all kinds if evil-looking liquids....
The wound seemed to need an awful long time to heal, which worried me. I interfered possibly too much by getting advice and acquiring penicillen, which I taped over the wound.... but Beniamino was very put out by having masking tape around his foot, and he limped and stumbled off into a hiding corner.
So I let him be, and prioritised subtle healing, asking friends who know about such things to also send energy.
He's still limping, but the wound is sealing now and is much less swollen and raw looking.
The subtle work pkus the ash have been the most effective and - importantly - least disruptive. I know that cats in particular absorb and digest their guardians' shit, and so reacting to theie symptoms can be counter-productive often.
Keeping a distance and remembering the potent innate healing power that we all own, has been profoundly beneficial to promoting my animals' complex integral systems and self-repairing capacities...
I'm very glad now to never take a knee jerk reaction of sweeping them into a box and taking them straight to a pharmaceutical despenser (formally known as vets)! Every illness that I and/ or they have, we work increasingly symbiotically in awakening our inherent abilities... It's powerful stuff!
Blessings on us all as One!
