Dearest Naturally-Healthy Friend,
I was musing today on Domestic Alchemy, clothing as sacred or at least meaningful costume, and the profound meditation of working with wool....
I had bought an old, beautiful scarf a couple of days back, unravelled it, put it into a big ball, then created a pompom... I made a post about this.
The huge pompom was overly heavy for my wee woolly hat, however - and so I set out to remedy this by spontaneously grabbing more cardboard, redrawing the circles, and rewrapping the wool for the new, trim pompom...
I was lost in a deep therapeutic state, musing on circles and planets, cycles and, threads, weaving and magical co-creating, as the sun rose on this solstice morning...
It was a half hour of my time, blissfully preparing mind and body for the day, bringing the focus of my attention to what creative power is in our hands at all times. Our capacity to work with colour and form, material and imagination.... And brighten up everyone's day with a multicoloured addition to a woolly hat!
I've always felt that pompoms have a particularly potent symbolism: the radiating lines of pure colour, from the tightly packed centre - like our soul consciousness expanding from our core... All things are medicine, all activities are art and therapy, all our thoughts are create-ive.
Blessings and pompom power to All, this solstice night!
