One last day of freedom
Yesterday morning at 10:30am, and I went to a yoga class. It was our first yoga class together in over a month, that alone made it special. This yoga class was even more unique thanks to the fact that it was held outdoors. Not just anywhere outside either. We went to a yoga class on the lawn of the WV State Capitol. We met on the grass just below the golden dome, right next to the governor's mansion. This class was hosted by Yoga Power, which is also the studio where
will be teaching her first yoga class this Wednesday/June 2nd.
I was surprised by how big of a turn out this outdoor morning class actually had. There was at least 25-30 people there to practice yoga. It was a bit chilly outside and the grass was still wet from dew. That didn't stop us from having a great yoga class. We kept our sweatshirts on most of the glass, so staying warm was't an issue. Our feet were bare, but doing yoga seems to keep your body warm.
We didn't take any photos of us actually doing yoga, we were more focused on practicing. We did however get some before and after the class. I always feel better after a yoga class than I did before it. That to me is proof that yoga is something pretty valuable. So is exercise in general of course, everyone has their method. Another thing that is good to do is be around other positive people. Yoga classes are generally filled with pretty happy people. Although we didn't do any chatting, it still felt good to be in a group of like-minded individuals.
I'm super excited for to start teaching some classes. She already has several days on her schedule and surely even more to come. I hope she teaches on a day where I am not working so that I can show my support for her. I too would like to go to more yoga classes like I used to. I go to work at 9:30am, and none of the hour long classes start until 9am. So I can never make those. I don't get off of work through the week until 6:30pm and the latest class starts at 7pm. I can get to the studio in time for those, but sadly that is only on Wednesday and Thursday. Plus the evening classes tend to be Yin Yoga or some other form of yoga that is not high intensity like I enjoy.
I am left having an unlimited class membership at a studio where I sadly cannot get to daily. It's just a few minutes away from my apartment, but I guess they do not have many teachers who want to teach late in the evening. I don't blame them, I am exhausted by the time my day is over as well. I do know that my body wants me to do more yoga though, so I'm hoping this summer I will find a way to go to classes as often as possible.
Thanks for checking out my blog 😎🤝
Do you do yoga? Curious to try it? Both and I have been doing yoga for awhile now. She now has now completed her 200 hr YTT. I still have my Aerial Yoga Certification from back in 2017, although I haven't been using it the last few years. We would both be perfect people to ask any questions that you may have.
