I'm still wondering how far we will learn about women's history and why hearing about it doesn't stay relevant. Although women may have been the mainstay of our tribes for their ability to protect, nurture and raise, I feel that in some parts of the world our ancestral customs are diminished by other things.
Last night I discovered the wonderful song to call the cattle that have been left to graze in the nature. And I was amazed to discover its history and identify that it is part of the sacred feminine in some region, because the woman becomes one with nature, since she absorbs its resources to heal her own (natural medicine) and at the same time, she is the protector of nature.
In addition to its great importance for cattle calls, it was a way of communicating among themselves, warning if necessary of danger nearby or also, to scare away predators from the cattle and the tribe.
And with the latter I think of the important role that women have always played throughout history, displacing the thoughts imposed by societies, our natural ability to protect is what has allowed our people to endure over time. As possibly in our regions, our ancestral women have also had their Kulning to take care and protect their spaces and their own.
The song is wonderful, listening to it is as if the earth itself is calling you, but beyond that ethereal singing, its meaning and function is what moves me. Women in our society have decided to detach themselves from their own protective nature, spiritually displacing the magical powers that properly emanate from their womb, they consider that their powers no longer hold importance and have let themselves be carried away by the path of the ego.
And it is painful to think that perhaps our teachings will have remained in our grandmothers. We were the medicine, the wisdom, the education and the ethnic protection, we were the ones who used our hands to knead the bread that fed our people, we owned the book of our natural concoctions to cure all ills, is that a bad function for today's society?
I refuse to change the teachings of the tree of life and let go of that wisdom, I will continue to defend our tribes, the moon continues to shine as the years go by for a reason.
