There is certainly nothing wrong with individualism, however when it becomes fuel for division is when we ought to be aware of the consequences, the individualism itself does not create division however where it is backed up from certainly can.
We are to perhaps shed some light regarding the topic, when it comes to individualism it is an expression of personality and passions, things we associate as exciting and interesting. It can also create division however in some cases. In some philosophical sense when we are individuals we are dividing ourselves from others in an attempt to stand out, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt, it usually works when it comes from genuine passion and it is something to keep in mind.
We are to be aware as said about whether our individualism may create a schism instead of a an expression of passion. It is important to keep in mind a fair balance of both and in a healthy way.
There is a good (as well as not so good) reason for we are to have matching uniforms and perhaps similar ways of both presenting and behaving, it is in accord to the principle of resonance and to be a part of a greater whole, of course if it comes from an influencer it can cause trouble and is up to the wisdom of the influencer whether it will turn out good or not so good.
Regardless the case, matching with others isnt a bad idea either when done thoughtfully, social groups may have tendencies to find alike people and match them together, it is a typical phenomenon, so our individuality may not be so individual after all.
Indeed it may be beautiful to also be similar to others, it can be connecting, perhaps what we seek is to simply reconnect with something different, or perhaps we have negative past associations with the norms, whichever he case... let the individualism and the wanting of standing out not be the reason for disconnection... it often is not worth it.
Sometimes it is healthy to accept that being not so different is okay too... it can be connecting and help us form relationships.
What we really want is not to "be" different but rather something else, something deeper to be explored...
We are not to "be" or "do" something specific, we are to simply explore our passions in any way that is available and feels more suitable, outside of course of the expectations or specifications of the ego.
It is also important though to leave a piece of our passion in our individuality, just enough so we can feel well with ourselves, we are not to repress or disown any part of our selves, we are to simply sooth it in the most appropriate way depending on the situation, as they say, we cant have it all.
Talking from experience, I would perhaps be unable to embody most of my passions, however I find my ways to integrate them in a healthy way.
lastly, be the change that you want to see in the world, just do not let it possess and consume what you love in the process, there is always a way for everything to be balanced, at least I believe this to be the case.
Thank you for reading this short post, I wish you have a wonderful rest of the day and see you all soon onto the next post 🙏
