In a few hours we will have the new moon moment, as I post this, and this month the sun and moon will be conjunct both Venus and Neptune. This makes a quadruple conjunction, adding more significance to the new moon alignment. The western astrological symbolism of these four heavenly bodies aligned in Pisces, can be considered potentially mystical in its potency. I plan to do a little ritual or ceremony of my own to harness the moment.
Generally the new moon is a good time for new beginnings, as the lunar cycle commences. It’s a good time to plant the seeds of the coming cycle. It can also be a time of balance and inner composure, with conscious and unconscious aligned within ourselves.
When we add the Venus influence, we can consider it harmonious and even more positive, as Venus is one of the “benefic” planets. Naturally it facilitates harmony, beauty, love and fine art, as well as a great time for social interaction. The connectedness can manifest within oneself as well as externally among people in a social setting.
We may however, need to be careful of over-indulging, or being financially overbought, to use a trading term. In other words hold on to your wallets and spend wisely. Fortunately Neptune will add the increased intuition and sensitivity to the mood of the environment or social setting. Empathy is strengthened. You may want to donate to those in need, whether of your time, attention or assets.
Just be careful of overindulging again, as well as being wary of con artists or opportunists. Also be aware of the company you keep during this time, as your sensitivity to their association may sway you into indulgences you may normally forgo. Setting boundaries may be a good idea. In my ceremonial ritual, for example, I will consider the time, setting and circumstance before engaging in the event. An astral protective circle of protection will be useful too.
Naturally Venus and Neptune epitomize the concept of spiritual love, or selfless love. Neptune is symbolic of transcendence and otherworldliness, so it may be a good time to focus on our spiritual love relationship with the divine. Accessing our personal deity within can be enriching now.
The Sufi tradition is famous for its romantic poetry revolving around the love affair between the soul and the divine. Also the more esoteric yoga traditions have great poetry and texts describing the love affair that we have with the divine as being that of love in separation. The Sanskrit term used is “vipralambha bhava”. Yoga is the art of union with the divine, or linking up. But the mystic yogi also taps in to the highest love as being in the mood of separation.
Naturally we are part and parcel of the original personality of godhead – in quality one with or non-different, but in quantity very small or eternally fragmental in proportion. The analogy of the fire and the spark is sometimes used. A spark also has heat and light and is part of the fire, but it is minute in comparison. We are at present in a state of separation from the beloved, while embodied, but at times like the coming quadruple alignment, we may be able to tap in or glimpse a deeper sense of that potential union, or relatedness - in a mood of separation.
The coming new moon will be a good time for dance and music and also poetry, whether of love or something transcendent. I may well compose a poem which can be sung like a ballad in rhyming couplets for the occasion. Although three degrees apart, the four heavenly bodies are still considered in conjunction. Anything within an 8 degree orb is still considered conjunct.
We may long for an ideal lover or dream love, but ultimately the highest love is within oneself. When we have a feeling of union between the male and female sides of ourselves, then that state is one of wholeness, in which we can be most satisfied and creatively inspired.
On a higher level it manifests as love of the divine, filled with symptoms of ecstasy, whether tears of love or joy. Certainly it can facilitate a heightened emotional state of being. Traditionally the spiritual love in separation is considered the deepest form of divine love for the aspiring yogi. It is typified by the relationship we hear of in the more esoteric Vedic texts between Radha and Krishna, the original divine couple, worshipped by yogis and mystics throughout the ages as the original aspect of the godhead, as seen in the form of the male Krishna and the female Radha.
You may also have heard of Shiva and Shakti. They are seen as the expansions of the original couple - Krishna and Radha. Shakti is also known as Durga and is the personification of the goddess ruling over the material energy, and Shiva is her lover and consort. Radha and Krishna are beyond the material realm while Shiva – the expansion of Krishna, and Shakti or Durga, the expansion of Radha, are those aspects of the divinity that interact with the material energy.
So whether your dream time is enriched by the current new moon conjunction, or whether you access the ideal lover, whether mundane or transcendent, the quadruple conjunction currently forming will facilitate just the right mood and opportunity for you wherever you may be. If you are feeling alone or separated on the external level of your existence, then heal that divide that actually lies within yourself. Find wholeness within and your inner romance will preclude the dependence on any outer romance to provide you with a feeling of wholeness.
We have within us all the ingredients to be complete and whole and united and in love with life, without the need for an external person to provide that for us. You are the one that you are searching for. You are the one that you have been waiting for. You already have it, now simply realize it.
