This is a traditional Sanskrit inscription Sri Yantra (also called Hridaya Yantra or "Heart Yantra" in this version), with extensive Sanskrit text written in all the triangles, bands, and surrounding areas.
The title at the top reads:
॥ हृदययन्त्रश्रीचक्रम् ॥
Hridaya Yantra Śrī Cakram
"The Heart Yantra of the Śrī Chakra"
Below is a complete, section-by-section English translation of virtually all the visible Sanskrit text in the image (starting from the centre and moving outward). This is one of the most detailed inscribed Sri Yantras in existence, containing the full 9 enclosures (āvaraṇas) with their presiding deities, yoginīs, mudrā-devīs, siddhis, etc.
1. Centre (Bindu)
ॐ ऐं ह्रीं श्रीं
Oṃ aiṃ hrīṃ śrīṃ
(The three bīja mantras of the Śrī Vidya tradition – Vāg-bhava, Kāma-bīja, and Śrī/Lakṣmī bīja)
2. Central triangle (trikona) – inscriptions on the three sides
Top side:

9. Outer three lines (bhūpura) – the three square enclosures
The outermost three circles/lines are inscribed with the Gāyatrī mantra in full and other protective mantras:
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tat savitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt
(The full Śrī Vidya Gāyatrī)
Also repeated around the bhūpura:
ऐं ह्रीं श्रीं · ह्रीं श्रीं कौसुम · etc. (various bījas)
10. Four gates (dvāras) of the bhūpura
North gate: इन्द्रादयो देवाः (Indra and the gods)
East gate: सिद्धिदात्री (Giver of Siddhis)
South gate: सर्वकामप्रदा (Giver of all desires)
West gate: मोक्षदात्री (Giver of liberation)
This particular Sri Yantra is an extremely detailed "Hridaya Yantra" version used in the Dakṣiṇāmnāya and some Kashmiri Śrī Vidya lineages, where every triangle and petal is filled with the names of the presiding deities, powers, worlds, and mantras exactly as prescribed in texts such as the Nityāṣodaśikārṇava, Vāmakeśvara-tantra, and Parāśurāma-kalpasūtra.
The 15 Nitya Śaktis + Lalitā (making 16 in total)
In the Śrī Vidya tradition (especially in the Kaula and Samaya schools), the 16 Nitya Śaktis (also called Kālas or Nitya Devīs) are the eternal goddesses who govern the 15 lunar phases (tithis) of the waxing and waning moon, plus the full moon itself, which is Śrī Lalitā Mahā-Tripurasundarī.
They represent the cycles of time, the phases of consciousness, and the flow of prāna/śakti in the human body and the cosmos. Each Nitya has:
- A specific lunar day (tithi)
- A bīja mantra
- A specific form, colour, and attributes
- A yoginī name (used in esoteric worship)
- Specific siddhis (powers) obtained by their worship on their day
The standard list in the Śrī Vidya tradition (as per the Nityāṣodaśikārṇava, Vāmakeśvara Tantra, Parāśurāma Kalpasūtra, and Jñānārṇava Tantra) is as follows:
| # | Lunar Day (Tithi) | Nitya Devī Name | Bīja Mantra | Form & Key Attributes | Main Siddhi / Power Granted |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pratipat (1st) | Kāmeśvarī | aiṁ klīṁ sauḥ | Red colour, beautiful, archer’s pose | Mastery over desires, attraction |
| 2 | Dvitiyā (2nd) | Bhagamālinī | hrīṁ klīṁ sauḥ | Golden, garland of worlds | Control over the ego and senses |
| 3 | Tritiyā (3rd) | Nityaklinnā | hrīṁ sauḥ | Always wet with compassion, intoxicating | Unconditional love, emotional mastery |
| 4 | Chaturthī (4th) | Bheruṇḍā | aiṁ hrīṁ sauḥ | Fierce bird-headed form, terrifying | Destruction of obstacles, fearlessness |
| 5 | Pañcamī (5th) | Vahnivāsinī | klīṁ aiṁ sauḥ | Dwells in fire, red-hot | Burning of karma, purification |
| 6 | Ṣaṣṭhī (6th) | Mahāvajreśvarī | sauḥ klīṁ hrīṁ | Thunderbolt goddess, adamantine | Unshakable stability, invincibility |
| 7 | Saptamī (7th) | Śivadūtī (Dūtī) | hrīṁ aiṁ sauḥ | Messenger of Śiva, dark and fierce | Victory in disputes, command over beings |
| 8 | Aṣṭamī (8th) | Tvaritā | sauḥ hrīṁ klīṁ | Extremely swift, green-coloured | Instant fulfilment of any wish |

| 10 | Daśamī (10th) | Nityā | klīṁ sauḥ aiṁ | Eternal, beyond time | Liberation from time and death |
| 11 | Ekādaśī (11th) | Nīlapatākā | hrīṁ klīṁ sauḥ | Blue flag, sky-blue colour | Mastery over space and directions |
| 12 | Dvādaśī (12th) | Vijayā | sauḥ aiṁ klīṁ | Victorious, rides a lion | Victory in all undertakings |
| 13 | Trayodaśī (13th) | Sarvamaṅgalā | klīṁ hrīṁ sauḥ | All-auspicious | Complete auspiciousness, removal of bad luck |
| 14 | Chaturdaśī (14th) | Jvālāmālinī | aiṁ klīṁ hrīṁ | Garland of flames, fierce | Burning of ignorance, illumination |
| 15 | Amāvāsyā / Pūrṇimā | Mahā Nityā (Citrā) | sauḥ hrīṁ aiṁ | Variegated, rainbow-coloured | Attainment of all siddhis, ultimate knowledge |
| 16 | Pūrṇimā (Full Moon) | Parāparāti Śrī Lalitā | hrīṁ kā 15 letters | Supreme goddess, red, the 16th who contains all | Complete union with the Absolute (Kaivalya) |
Important Notes:
- The first 15 are the “lunar” Nityās corresponding to the 15 tithis from new moon to full moon (and symmetrically back).
- The 16th is Tripurasundarī herself on the full moon — she is the sum and transcendence of all the others.
- In some lineages (especially Dakṣiṇāmnāya), the 15th is called Citrā instead of Mahānityā.
- In the yantra you showed (the Hridaya Yantra), the 16-petalled lotus has the names exactly as in the list above (Kāmarūpiṇī is sometimes used as an alternative name for Kāmeśvarī in certain texts).
Daily Worship (Nitya Krama)
Advanced Śrī Vidya upāsakas perform special worship to the particular Nityā of that lunar day. Each has her own mantra japa count, nyāsa, and meditation form. The most powerful days are:
- 8th tithi → Tvaritā (for urgent siddhi)
- Full moon → Lalitā (for ultimate fulfilment)
These 16 Nityās together form the Śrī Krishna Nitya Śrī Lalitā cycle — the feminine counterpart of the moon’s eternal movement, and the secret key to the entire Śrī Vidya tantra.
