- There is no doubt, I'm fond of this herbs, I love it when a tree can serve more than one purpose, I may not be a herbalists but i certainly know the useful herbs trees.
This tree has not only been helpful to me to also to people around me.
Its more of homesteading today, So earlier in the weeky, I help my neighbors in his garden with the addition of the lemon grass leaf, who's also a lover of natural herbs.
to plant the lemon grass, the propagation is not very difficult but a bit technical so as to get the desired results.
Note that lemon grass is a perennial plant that can grow both outdoor or indoor.
How is lemon grass propagated?
A stalk of lemon grass igmf properly planted, multiplies itself into clump, lemon grass like sun, so it is advisable to plant in a place direct to the sunlight, a fertile piece of land and not so loamy soil.
- So when you want to plant, you don't have to wait till it starts raining, but don't let its root to be dry ensure adequate supply of moisture to the soil keeping the soil warm very often
Carefully Uproot a stalk of lemon grass, ensure the roots is uprooted with the stalk, while the woody stem is not peeled
The bottom of the stalk springs out new root while its top brings new leaf
- Uprooted With the stem, because the leaves tend to grow from the stem as the root becomes wider in the soil or vase.
It can be first planted in a vase or polythene before being transplant into the soil
Initially I planted it in a polythene to grow before i move into the soil
Now i need to check on it time to time and find a way to increase the soil nutrient so as to have a good yield.
