Do you know Moringa leaves? It's a special plant that grows a lot in Asia. In our country, Indonesia, we consume moringa leaves as vegetables. It is cooked as soup or stir fried.
Beside as food, Moringa plant (mainly its leaves) is known to have many health benefit. It contains of protein, iron, magnesium, vitamin A, B6 and C. It may help with reducing cholesterol, blood sugar level, and inflammation.
Well, because I am aware of its benefit I tried to eat Moringa leaves regularly. For me, the taste of moringa soup or vegetables is really good.
Making vegetables soup can take a long time, so one day I just made Moringa juice. My wife helped me with picking the Moringa leaves and removing the small branches. Then she washed the leaves. When the leaves were cleaned, she put it into the blender.
No need to blend the leaves for a long time, just 5 minutes. When the leaves become soft and mixed in the water, she filter the juice with a sieve and pour it into a glass. This was to remove all the remaining leaves from the juice, and so we could get a fine liquid.
I took a sip of the Moringa juice, and it tasted so strong. Very strong. It almost choked me. I have seen people who drank this juice very easily like drinking water, but I never thought it's going to be this pungent and strong. So, I need few while to finish that big glass of Moringa juice.
Well, although it has a lot of great benefit, its taste was not that great. It did not really matter though, after a while, you will get used to it. One thing to note is that you can not drink too much of Moringa juice or you will become sleepy. Probably it affect the blood sugar level or the blood pressure. Anyway, if you are interested to try, you should do your own research. This is not a health recommendation, just for information purpose only.
Here is a video I made when making the Moringa juice.
