Hello Hive family!
I live in the heart of the city in a brick and polished concrete building. I've only really gone outside for groceries once a week. Even though we have our worm farm in the apartment to take care of and a few succulents and other miscellaneous plants, we haven't really had a chance to be surrounded by nature.
Today was a very exciting day because I was asked to help check on the horses at Green Rush, a nature sanctuary on a mountain a few miles outside of the of town.
I love this place with my whole heart as it is 29 acres of forest with a few hiking trails to go on foot or on horseback. And every time I come here, I leave with a smile on my face and a sense of wellbeing and connection with nature.
I do, very much think that plants and trees have the power to heal our mind and body and would recommend, if you have the chance, to go for a walk outside, and be alone with nature, even if it's short walk and listed to the birds, the wind, the squirrels... be present in the now. be mindful. you'll be glad you did.
Remember that every one of us already has the seed of mindfulness. The practice is to cultivate it - Thich nhat hanh
I'm not great at writing poetry; I record stuff. So I wanted to share a short little video I made of one of the hiking trails.
