Hello everyone!
In this blog I'm gonna tell you about Bitter Gourd and it's health benefits. It is a green skinned vegitable with a translucent or white flesh. It has a taste that fits its name , this vegitable is really bitter 😬.
This vegitable is also known as bitter melon, bitter apple, balsam-pear and bitter squash. This vegitable is called nigauri in Japan, Goya in Okinawa and Ampalaya and Karela in India. If your tastebuds are not familiar with this vegitable you might take a while to warm up to the bitter flavour.
To be honest I personally don't eat this vegitable much because I don't like it. While I was taking a walk at my kitchen garden I came across it and I did a small research about it.
The leaves of this vegitable are green and pointy from the edges and the leaves are more prone to sun are slightly yellow from the centre.
Herevis a picture of the leaves that are slightly yellow from the centre.
It's scientific name is Momordica charantia and it belongs to Cucurbitaceae family. It is widely grown in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean for its edible fruit.
The juice of this vegitable is really healthy and has very health benefits like lowering of blood pressure and in glowing of skin. Its juice is also a popular health tonic.
