What am I, if not a part of nature. My body made up of the same things as all living creatures, my cycle connected to the moon, my mind and spirit align with the changing of the seasons. Everything connected as one. For when I honour the earth, I honour myself.
When we take the time to slow down, learning to observe our surroundings, taking the time to sit with the moon. We begin to notice the effect that each season has on us, how each lunar cycle affects us. When we study the trees and the plants, taking heed of their teachings, we discover the magic that is within our reach. How the plants that surround us, those ones that we have been told are but mere weeds, contain magical properties that heal us on so many different levels.
When we take the time, to listen to the language of these plants, we become drawn to certain ones, the ones that are of most benefit to us at that point in our lives. Make no mistake, the plants and trees want to communicate with us, we just need to learn, or more like, relearn how to hear them.
We are called to slow down, to breath deep and feel the vibration energy from those magnificent beings around us.
I have always been fascinated by nature and I have always felt a huge amount of respect for her and all living beings. I grew up with a desire to be of service to the earth. With an understanding that the damage we do, we are also doing to ourselves. I never understood why some find it so easy to litter and pollute, to poison our water and air.
Natural products that I use to clean with (dried wild grass) and brush my teeth with (Miswak toothbrush!)
I took it upon myself to become aware of every product that I use, to make sure that it did not do any damage to the environment. I hear some people use the excuse that eco products are too expensive, well guess what, you can make all of those things yourself. And most of them, especially what we put on our own bodies, are things we do not need.
If you wish to continue to live in, to continue to enjoy the natural world, then you have to live a natural life. It is as simple as that.
For sure it is a bit more time consuming, but there is nothing more important that honouring the earth. That feeding and nourishing, the soil, by choosing to use products that do it no harm. By living in harmony with this beautiful planet of ours!
I do not follow any religion, I follow only the changing of the seasons, the flow of the river, the contour of the mountains, the wind that calls to me and revitalizes me. I follow my heart and that always leads me back to the wild, the wild within and without!
Using cloth nappies, doing whats best for my children and the environment!
I live a life, that is immersed in nature. One that keeps me connected, so that I continue to see and understand what is really important. By living off grid, growing my own food, taking full responsibility for my health and healing my body, mind and spirit with natural medicine. These are the ways in which I honour the earth. I have no desire to poison my body with toxic medicine, that also pollutes the environment when it is being manufactured.
I have no desire to put toxic ingrediants on my skin, to use toxic products in my home, ones that are also tested on animals, animals that are tortured, just so we they can then sell them on to us. What a destructive cycle.
When I celebrate life, I celebrate nature. I celebrate the changing of the seasons and the cycle of the moon. I gather together with my friends and we share our harvest, our creations, as we celebrate unity and oneness. In coming together, we raise the vibration and send that out into the world. Everything is energy and we can choose to focus on our fears, or on our creations, on our dreams.
We are creators, we create our own reality and when we are connected with nature, we understand how interconnected all things are.
One of my daughters naming ceremonies, where we planted a tree with her placenta, our way to honour her and her connection to nature, by nourishing the soil.
This is the message that needs to be spread and spreading it is one of my life passions. I do it through the ceremonies I create, the way in which I live and the poems and writings that I share. For me, it is a way of life. It is not simply about dedicating a day or a week. It is something we do everyday, through every action we make, it is living consciously and from the heart!
We get to make choices everyday and those choices are what determine how we live and interact with the world around us. Some are easy and some are more difficult, but if you really care about the environment, if you care about the earth, then you will find a way to live a more natural life.
This is my entry into the latest Natural Medicine, Earth Healing Challenge. I have my own opinions about 'Climate Change', but I also will take any opportunity to promote the importance of EarthCare, of living more consciously and aware.
