Hello guys hope all of you are doing good.
As mentioned before, I had ramen today and came to a conclusion. It is amazing!
I tried two places in Dhaka as suggested by my friends and family in Bangladesh. One was in Tokyo Express and another was in Kettle Cafe in Bangladesh. In Gulshan and in Mohammadpur respectively.
This was Kettle Cafe. It was a very small shop. It had 8 seats only and people had to wait outside for it. The first time I went there I had to wait outside for others inside to finish. It took me an hour to get there. Their service is pretty good and their time to deliver is equally fast.
This was the first one they served me. It was a great one. It’s quantity was massive but the quality slacked behind a bit from Tokyo Kitchen. The chicken was standard meaning tender and the crisp part was tasty. The green onions were good. The egg was normal. The reverse flower type of meat was a sausage. The broth, however, only looked spicy but wasn’t. I slurped all of it in the end. I ordered this for me. It was the Korean spicy ramen as said in the restaurant. The noodles was thin and long; it was almost like a fettuccine. I am no expert at noodles. 😅🤷♂️
This was taken by my brother. This was also good. Although, the type of noodle was different, a spaghetti type and was easy to slurp. Had mushrooms and was not that spicy. The both was similar but I felt that this one had a bit more concentration of soy sauce than the rest.
The dumplings that we had ordered was very hot and thus made it equally amazing. The broth was delicious and a bit spicy. I would suggest this for everyone who would take this.
Then I went to another ramen shop with my friends some days back.
This was from the Tokyo Kitchens! The picture doesn’t lie, it was very delicious and may possibly be the best ramen selling chain in Bangladesh. More importantly, it was very hot. I gradually realised it and didn’t find it spicy at first glance. The noodles was curly and think. The beans were great as it went well with the hot broth. The beef portion was a bit smoky that I personally like very much. It was served as steamy hot and it went well with the spice and curly noodles and smoky beef. It was the hot and sour ramen.
This was taken by my friend, it was the beef ramen. Wasn’t spicy but wasn’t too boring. The broth was clear and superseded my expectations. I normally like spicy food so I never expected something non spicy to be good. It came with corn beans and mushrooms. The mushrooms here was perfect, not too sloppy and not too dry. This place truly lived up to it’s expectation even though it was a bit expensive for me😅.
We were 3 friends and my friend also ordered the same one I had, also a sucker for the spice! We had to take water, they took soft drinks afterwards as the ramen was hot and I needed to clear my mouth off the steamy red layer.
All in all, I believe that both chains were good. Tokyo kitchens was more expensive than Kettle Cafe, almost double the price. One gave quality and the other gave quantity respectively. I personally want quality as it matters most, the quantity doesn’t matter if it’s quality is low. Even though the quality didn’t hang back that much for Kettle Cafe, I confess that Tokyo Kitchens takes the dub. Thanks for reading and share your experience with ramen!
