Hello friends,
Today I was thinking about what to make for my family. It was challenging because I want it to be healthy, but kids are not big fans of cooked vegetables.
So I decided to find a compromise and add something, that kids really like eating to my veggies. I thought they like macaroni and bacon, me and my husband like to eat baked veggies. Well let’s start cooking using these ingredients 🧑🍳.
Here is the lost ingredients I used:
- macaroni
- sweet potatoes
- butternut squash
- broccoli
- turkey bacon
- butter
- salt
- black pepper
Preparation
I baked sweet potatoes and butternut squash in the oven first.
While it was baking, I fried one pack of bacon, and brought to boil some broccoli. Once broccoli started boiling I removed it from the stove, so it would stay bright green and crunchy.
When the sweet potatoes and squash were almost ready I boiled macaroni, added some butter when it was ready, and put in our bowls as a first layer.
Then I mashed sweet potatoes with a fork, and cut the squash in slices.
On top I put all the vegetables and turkey bacon.
I should say it was a good trick. Kids ate everything. My daughter even said she liked the broccoli and now it’s her favorite vegetable. It’s the best compliment I have ever heard in my life:-)
