JEJU SAMGYUPSAL
Presenting another Korean restaurant here in Cebu known for Korean BBQ or "samgyupsal" where you get to enjoy the food that you cook paired with delicious Korean side dishes!
It was my first time here and I always see that's it's packed at dinner time. So if you wish to visit this place, you might want to come in early or reserve a table. Similar to other Samgyupsal restaurants, they limit the dining to 2 hours only to make space for other customers especially during the weekends where everyone's out and busy in restaurants. Be sure to come in on time with your friends! π
MENU
This restaurant is affordable due to its fixed menu where you only choose between Set A or Set B. They don't serve other food than that, unlike other Korean restaurants. I really liked that we have the option to get Kimchi fried rice instead of the plain rice. There's only limited choices of meat which is fine so our stomach don't get confused π€£
I think this makes them unique from the rest because then, they can ensure quality of food and service. π
INTERIOR
Since we came in early around 5pm, I was able to take a good picture of the restaurant when it was still empty. I really liked it here because of it's design, the cute chairs, instagrammable walls and the clean environment! I forgot to take a picture of their bathroom but it was so cute, smells good and well-maintained! It definitely made them stand out from the others π€£
OUTDOOR DINING
You will easily spot the restaurant because of its bright yellow signage. They have a lot of space and table outside too. It started to get busy around 6:30pm. The tables inside the restaurant was full and outside it's almost fully occupied as well.
LET'S COOK!
I really liked their wide spacious table! All the cutlery was in a small drawer under the table so it was not a hassle to keep on calling the waitress if we want more tissue or chopsticks or spoons. They also had a waiter call button on the table so it was so easy to get the waitress' attention if we need something. No need to raise our hands or get up from the seat. π
Their grilling pan was pretty nice as well, the meat doesn't burn and get those "charcoaly" edges (excuse my english, idk how to call that but I hope you get my point wahha). Only the middle part of the pan is hot and there's still so much space on the side where we can put the cooked meat. It's pretty convenient cause we can just put the meat back to the middle if we want to reheat it. In other restaurants I've been to, the pan gets pretty hot and we need to transfer the meat to another plate which takes up space on the table.
My friends who cook definitely enjoy this! I'm just here pretending to help in the pictures and what I'm best at doing - Eating. whaaha π
DINNER TIME!
The most awaited after all the sweat and effort of cooking (thanks friends), it's time to enjoy the food!
It can be confusing how to eat samgyupsal with all the food on the table. Here's a short tutorial π
How to eat Samgyupsal:
- Take a piece of lettuce
- Put in a piece of beef or pork meat dipped in a sauce (I personally just dip it in salt) then put in the middle of the lettuce
- Add some rice (if you prefer), onion, garlic, kimchi and ssamjang sauce.
- Roll the lettuce like a burrito
- Get it all in your mouth! π€£
That's basically the thought but what I like about this is that you can do whatever you want, put whatever you like, pile up a lot of the meat in the lettuce if you wish! It's unlimited anyway! π€£
