My mother has a ridiculous habit of collecting kitchen gadgets. I mean... It's out if hand, really and I love to rip her off about it. But honestly, this thing? The halogen oven? It's freaking AWESOME.
So, our regular oven is on the blink at the moment, and since my mom left us with all her weird and wonderful kitchen goodies, I finally decided to pull this thing off the shelf and see what all the fuss was about.
Look, I want a airfryer, for a family of 5, we'd need to spend a bloody fortune for one that's big enough. Now that I've got my grubby paws on this thing though, I don't need one anymore 😜
From roasts in under an hour to casseroles in less, you can throw just about anything in here and cook it fast, to perfection, without losing precious moisture or favour and STILL achieving Beatiful browning results and crisping for chops and roast potatoes.
With zero need for oil, and being able to throw whatever I want directly into the Pyrex bowl, the halogen oven has made one pot cooking spectacular.
Here are some images of goodies I've cooked up in the last few weeks.
Recipies to follow soon!
P. S.
The temperature knob markings have worn off so I'm just letting my ancestors guide me right now. The halogen light turns on and off to adjust temperature. What's incredible is that the lid (where the globe is) actually doesn't get that hot and although I wouldn't put it directly onto the counter, it's weird that it cools off so fast. I'm just saying... I should have melted/ burnt myself and/or kitchen utensils far more than I have. I shall have to Google the temperature settings and paint them on so I can bake! 🤣🤣
